Street art and graffiti in Amsterdam city center
Like New York and Berlin – Amsterdam very "convenient" city for tourists, as most of the interesting sites in it are within walking distance of each other, or a short drive by public transport. Amsterdam's magnificent water canals, unique squares and streets, the city's young atmosphere along with fascinating contrasts between old and new, make it a city that provides a unique experience like you will not find in any other city in Europe.
Amsterdam has plenty of attractions and places that are important to experience and get to know. I, as usual, suggest that you also incorporate street art within the tracks you have already planned for yourself. A walking tour of the city with an awareness of street art, will expose you to dozens of works by many artists who work in the city and decorate it in our honor.
Add to your list of attractions in Amsterdam, also a free and independent street art tour, in one of the hot spots in my six posts on street art in Amsterdam. At the end of each of the posts in the series there are links to the rest of the posts. Choose the place that speaks most to you and embark on an adventure of aesthetics, art, urbanity and a contemporary and kicking social story.
This post is the first in a series of 6 posts summarizing my last visit to Amsterdam in April 2022. In this post you will find dozens of works of art by many artists (list of artists at the bottom of the post).

- Exposed to street art & graffiti in the different neighborhoods
- Street art is displayed both on the map and in the list
- Discover the most interesting neighborhoods in the city (street art wize)
- Add your favorite street art to the city route you planned in advance
- Use the street art map (Google Map) as the navigation map for all other attractions
Graffiti and street art are a changing and dynamic – the appearance of an art work on the map, does not prove that the work still exists, and has not been disrupted/removed/deleted.
The maps contain about 50% of the art works in those neighborhoods – so you always have more to discover by yourself…
