Graffiti in Jerusalem - Talpiot neighborhood
Although the Talpiot neighborhood in Jerusalem developed during the British Mandate, it was designed as a "modern city" and is therefore one of the only neighborhoods not subject to the Jerusalem stone construction obligation that applies to any other neighborhood in Jerusalem. For graffiti artists, the Jerusalem stone is very unfriendly, making Talpiot a perfect Jerusalem compound for graffiti pieces towering on the fronts and sides of high-rise houses.
The international wall project has already been hosted in Haifa in the past and in May 2018 also reached Talpiot. The goal of the project, which is being supported by the Jerusalem Municipality and Eden- city economic development company, is to make Talpiot the hottest urban complex in Jerusalem. Thus came out among the garages, shops and offices in the neighborhood and the industrial area, a variety of graffiti artwork by local and international artists appeared. The murals are huge, colorful and spectacular.
Among the graffiti artists in the Talpiot Walls project you will find:
, Pilpeled, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Know Hope, Brothers Of Light,
Smithe one, Guma, Clone, Rouhan Wang.
