Just a step away from the classics of the Parisian graffiti scene, a distinctive visual language has emerged in recent years, one that covers entire walls with dense motion lines, cut marks, and rhythmic bursts of color. Behind this charged aesthetic stands Ludovic Djeradi, a French-born artist (1987) who brings to the wall a rare fusion of gestural painting, deconstructed typography, and an almost archaeological feel of layered paint, revealing and concealing at once.
A Topography of Color and Motion
What immediately defines Ludovic Djeradi’s work is the density of composition: his murals look like topographical maps of imaginary cities. Thick, rough brushstrokes collide with fine linear structures; patches of turquoise-green, fuchsia-pink, and neon yellow clash with industrial greys.
A Language of Layers – Painting as Excavation
Djeradi paints layer upon layer. The sensation is less about painting over and more about carving into. It’s as if he scratches through the surface to uncover traces of ancient graffiti. This approach also appears in his studio work, where he mixes acrylic, spray paint, and sometimes even stitching on canvas to create a physically tangible texture – not just a visual illusion.
“The Wall as a Diary” – His Dialogue with Time
Djeradi often avoids clear figurative imagery. Instead, he treats the wall as a field of memory, not a single subject, but a constellation of traces. Fellow artists frequently describe his practice as a “continuation for tomorrow”: the same wall might awaken with a new layer, a small correction, or a fresh chromatic interpretation of the surface.
Between the Street and the Studio
Djeradi creates an urban “noise” that works beautifully on rough concrete and transforms on canvas into compositions with a strong inner geometry. His participation in urban art auctions alongside names such as C215 positions him among a generation that is redefining street painting as a contemporary art form with both market value and emotional depth, without losing the spontaneity of spray and stain.
