Eaton (Hollywood, CA, 1978) is known worldwide for its street art (huge-scale murals on skyscrapers) that can be found in major cities around the world. Tristan Eaton creates with a freehand spray paint – a technical nod to his history and the respect he acquires for graffiti culture. Eaton pays great respect to traditional painting techniques and brings in his dynamic compositions.The street artwork in this post was photographed in Berlin and New York.

Tristan Eaton began practicing street art as a teenager who did not always get along with institutional settings. He is an artist whose living circumstances have motivated him to often choose subversive strategies in the way he creates, primarily to be able to pay the rent. During his teenage years he painted everything from billboards to trash in the urban landscape. Eaton lives and paints in London, Detroit and New York. If you ask him, he will define himself as a punk on a skateboard. Throughout adolescence he has been arrested several times for various crimes like shoplifting and graffiti tagging.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Putting the pain in painting since 25 years ago\u2026<\/strong>
After graduating (visual arts in New York), Eaton began designing toys for the toy brand Fisher Price – where he created iconic designs and branded himself as one of the founders of the designer toy movement that currently promotes contemporary pop artists like KAWS. These toys were created in a limited edition and are based on the work of significant graffiti artists in hip hop culture. Tristan Eaton believes that limited edition designer toys are somewhere between fine art (FINE ART) and commercial art because beautiful art is very expensive, while commercial art is cheaper and available to the masses.<\/p>

At one point, Eaton developed an independent studio and specialized in creating original artwork and design for large clients like Pepsi, Nike, Universal and many others. His sought-after style and work ethic in the field, continue to inspire confidence in his clients, while constantly blurring the line between commercial art and FINE ART.
Tristan Eaton’s huge murals often feature a meticulous patchwork collage based on a collection of pop images mixed with his unique personal style in freehand.<\/p>

Eaton’s street art adorns the United States, France, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Mexico. His work is part of the Museum of Modern Art’s Museum of Modern Art in New York. Always lucky enough to have access. It is unfair to him that the lower class should have access only to gray buildings and billboards.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Today, Eaton is the president and creative director of Thunderdog Studios INC – a prominent designer toy brand and creative agency in Brooklyn, New York that specializes in toy design, illustration, graphic design and animation.<\/p>
